The Bumble Bee Didn’t Mind

This little guy along with a lot of honey bees were enjoying the flowers from the weeds volunteering near a construction barricade. (Shot with a Kodak Z1012 IS)

Getaway from the Urban Utopia

I suppose there are those who must have constant commotion for life to be meaningful.  I’m not one of them.  Many times the radio gets silenced, the talking heads stifled; and the only thing reaching my ears is the hum of my tires headed in a direction where there are no buildings and no trees obstructing my view. I particularly like the drive through Carabelle to St. George Island.  Early morning is the best.  Once you leave the traffic of Tallahassee, the roads are mostly vacant for the entire 65 to 70 miles to St. George Island.  Here are some photos I’ve recently taken during these trips.

The Ugly: Places in Tallahassee That Need Some Attention

First 3 Photos : These formless and sometimes blighted sites, located on North Monroe Street, not far from the Capitol Complex, have remained unchanged for several decades.     Photo 4: It’s unclear whether or not this unkempt post and chain barricade (foreground) located at the front of the State Capitol serves any purpose. The public sidewalks lie on the other side of the barricades (mid-ground in photo).
